TEXAS RACEWAY 2008 JR RACE RULES

All racers are required to comply with ALL 2008 NHRA & TXR rules

POINTS - The points program is as follows: It will cost $10 for point’s sign up. There is NO charge to earn points in the Quick program unless Quick is the only class you are earning points then it will cost $10. You will also receive one free Pit pass good for any regular Jr. points race.

As in previous years, no points will be awarded until you complete the points sign up procedure and it’s entered by the track. THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD.

Points are earned as follows:  Drivers will earn ten (10) points for first round. The driver will earn an additional ten points for every round won. The Runner-Up in each eliminator will receive one (1) bonus point and the Winner will receive 10 points for winning the round and two bonus points.

A driver may not drive more than one car in the same eliminator. A driver may only earn points for the eliminator(s) entered per event. Points are awarded to the driver. IF YOU JUMP IN SOMEONE ELSE’S CAR BE SURE TO PUT YOUR NUMBER ON THE DRIVERS WINDOW OR YOU WON’T GET YOUR POINTS.

TOW BACK –Jr’s must be towed back from the “Hot Car Staging” area on the return road (when old scales were. This is a safety issue and it is required.

QUICK CLASS – Will be laddered but is subject to card pulling when there is a time issue.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT – If you take off your safety equipment before the car has come to a stop you will lose your points for the day or may be disqualified. Parents it’s YOUR responsibility to keep your kids safe.

All car numbers shall be permanently displayed on the driver’s side of the car (legibly) to be seen from the tower. The use of white, block style letters/numbers are recommended.

IF YOU STAGE YOUR CAR WITH THE WRONG DIAL-IN

IT’S A RACE AND THERE WILL NOT BE A RE-RUN

Every effort will be made to put your correct car number and dial-in however mistakes are made.

FORBIDDEN:  SKATEBOARDS AND FOOT SCOOTERS - Leave them at home

 


General Rules
(Applies to all types of Racing)

All racers are required to comply to ALL Current Year NHRA rules including chassis certification and Licenses.

  1. Alcohol consumption by participating drivers is strictly prohibited.

  2. Speed Limit in the pits is 10 mph

  3. No burnouts in the pit area or return road.

  4. No glass bottles are allowed on track premises.

  5. Drivers are not allowed on the track if the driver has been drinking alcoholic beverages.

  6. When racing if you experience a problem with your car, please pull to the side of the track and stop.  This will help keep fluids off of the racing surface.

  7. COURTESY STAGING -  is required for Bracket racers

  8. TIME OUT - Once 3 bulbs are lit you have 10 SECONDS to stage before being timed out and receive a RED LIGHT.

  9. DRIVERS LICENSE - Required. You may be asked for proof. 

  10. WORKING TAIL LIGHT - One is required

  11. Mufflers are encouraged in all classes.

  12. If you are having trouble with your car and feel you need an additional time trial talk with the tower and they will work with you.

In consideration for being allowed to participate in events, I affirm that I have read, understand and agree to be bound by all K& K, NHRA and Texas Raceway rules, regulations and agreements, including, but not limited, to those contained in on the K & K Insurance Waiver I signed at the entrance gate, NHRA Rulebook, with specific reference, and TXR rules but not limited, to the rules, regulations and agreements contained in the Administration Procedures and Appeals Section of the NHRA Rulebook which are incorporated herein by reference.  I have the authority to bind the vehicle’s owner to these terms if the owner is someone other than myself.  I understand that K & K Insurance, NHRA and TXR makes no representations, warranties, or assurances that technical inspections, including review of any written information, will:

I agree that I bear responsibility at all times to ensure the safety of the vehicle, equipment and clothing in question and compliance with all K & K Insurance, NHRA and TXR rules, regulations and agreements, including, but not limited, to those contained in the K & K Insurance waiver, NHRA Rulebook or TXR rules.  I agree that I am in the best position to know about the construction and operation of the vehicle, equipment and clothing in question, and compliance with all K & K Insurance, NHRA rules and TXR, regulations and agreements, including, but not limited, to those contained in the K & K Insurance waiver, NHRA rulebook and TXR rules.  I agree that participation in any and every aspect of the sport of drag racing is a privilege, not a right, and I wish to participate in accordance with all of the foregoing.

 

GOLF CARTS, SCOOTERS, BIKES, FOOT SCOOTERS

You must be 16 years and older to drive a motorized scooter/ATV/etc to assist parents

WITH PARENTS PERMISSION ONLY

 

You MUST have a drivers license to drive a golf cart or scooter.
 

The following will NOT BE ALLOWED:

        NO BICYCLES OR FOOT SCOOTERS ALLOWED AFTER DARK  BY ANYONE UNDER 16

 

PARENTS TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY & HAVE FULL LIABILITY.

 

YOU MAY LOSE POINTS AND/OR ASKED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY IN UNDER AGE CHILDREN ARE DRIVING!

Racers are RESPONSIBLE to know and follow all race rules.
